Earlier this month, I had the joy of creating “morning-of illustrations” for a styled bridal shoot, and it was such a unique and rewarding experience. There’s something magical about the quiet, intimate moments as a bride gets ready - details that are often overlooked but hold so much meaning. Observing the morning unfold allowed me to slow down and honor those fleeting moments in a way that photography alone can’t always capture.

One of my favorite parts of the morning was illustrating the bride’s two dresses, an elegant ceremony gown and a fun reception dress, each displayed beautifully on mannequins. I also created a collage of other special details: the shoes, custom bobby pins, perfume bottle, mirror, morning cocktail, earrings, and even makeup brushes. Each element told its own story, and together they painted a vivid picture of the joy, anticipation, and beauty of that morning.

Working alongside an incredible team of vendors made the experience even more memorable. Collaborating with the hair and makeup artists, photographer, venue, and planner reminded me how every piece of the day, from big moments to small details, comes together to create a truly unforgettable experience. It’s these collaborations that make styled shoots so inspiring for everyone involved.

Morning-of illustrations are such a special way to capture a part of the wedding day that can easily be overlooked. For brides, this is an opportunity to preserve the little moments - those details you carefully chose and the quiet excitement before walking down the aisle. These illustrations become keepsakes that you’ll treasure for years, long after the flowers have faded and the dresses have been packed away.

It’s a meaningful and creative way to remember the joy, beauty, and excitement of the start of your wedding celebration. Reach out to learn more about how we can bring your morning to life on paper!
