3 Events. 3 Stories. 3 Reasons to Consider Live Art.

When people think about hiring a live artist for an event, weddings are often the first event that comes to mind.

But this month, I had the opportunity to create live art at three very different events, and each one reminded me that live art can bring something special to all kinds of gatherings.

1. A Corporate Fundraiser

I provided live illustrations for 46 guests over the duration of a fundraising dinner event.

Guests stopped by to have their photo taken during cocktail and silent auction hour, and then left with an original piece of artwork created just for them at the end of the night. But the illustration itself was only part of the experience.

There was also the interaction: watching a portrait come together, talking with me, seeing other guests' illustrations, and having something personal to take home at the end of the evening.

2. A Celebration of Life

The second event was a celebration of life honoring a woman who had a deep love for animals, and I was invited to create live illustrations of guests' pets as a way to honor that part of her life.

Two of the several illustrations that were created on-site for guests at the celebration of life.

In this setting, the artwork became more than a keepsake. It gave guests a way to share something meaningful about the person they were remembering, and to celebrate something she loved.

Live art can help tell someone's story and create a tangible reminder of what mattered to them.

3. A Coptic Wedding

The third event was a wedding for a couple who were married in a Coptic Orthodox church. The church was beautifully ornate, so the couple opted to invest in a large 30"x40" canvas to capture all the details.

The 30"x40" painting by the end of the night - more details to come in the studio!

I arrived with a blank canvas and guests got to watch the painting come to life throughout the day. By the end of the night, guests were completely amazed and the couple was in love with it. The photo featured above shows where the painting was left at the end of the night, but since this was such a detailed scene, I will continue working on it in the studio.

Live art doesn't always have to follow a traditional format. It can be adapted to the event, the venue, and the story you're trying to capture.

Three Events, Three Stories

A corporate fundraiser. A celebration of life. A wedding.

On the surface, these events have very little in common. But each one showcases a different way that live art can make an event more memorable and the experience more meaningful for guests.

It can be an interactive experience. It can honor a special memory. It can preserve an important moment in a way that feels personal and unique.

That's what I love about live art: it isn't just for weddings.

The best live art experiences are the ones that fit the story of the people and the occasion.

So whether you're planning a wedding, shower, corporate event, party, celebration of life, or something completely different, live art can be a great way to give your guests an experience they'll remember - and provide something meaningful to keep long after the event is over.
